Write one leaf about teasing.

March 21, 2010

There are different types of teasing in my opinion. There’s the kind where you’re “just kidding” and then they kind that is actual hurtful. I”m refering to the hurtful kind. If you have a problem with someone, then just leave them alone! You have no reason to want to make somebody else feel bad or insecure. We all just want to be loved for who we are…

And this brings me back to what happened to a friend of mine a week or so ago. He’s not one of my extremely close, but people did and said stuff to him that I don’t approve of and no matter how much you dislike a person I dont think you should be this cruel to them.

So my friend is bi. And alot of ppl suspected him of being gay all along, but not alot of people actually knew for a fact that he’s bi. His cousin on the other hand did know. She used to be really close friends with him and they always hung out. Then she started dating this one guy, and my friend didn’t approve of her boyfriend. He told her that and she got really mad and they got into an argument. Now she basically hates him. So in their english class she started telling people that he was “madly in love” with a guy in our school. And this guy is someone that nobody likes. So basically she was just being a jerk, but the guy ended up hearing about it, so every time he’d walk past my friend in the hall, he’d cover himself with his books and tell my friend to stop staring.

Then in english his cousin started teasing him again, and everyone in the class joined in. My friend started crying. He’s a sophmore, and he now hates almost everyday of his life, and fears highschool!

Teasing is bad, and has caused people to fall into depression or comit suicide! It’s not a laughing matter and people should really watch what they say!

Write one leaf about Wal-Mart

March 17, 2010

This is a rather coincidental topic since I went to Walmart this weekend. It wasn’t the best trip ever though, let me tell you! My mom has recently befriended a lady at her work who is super sweet, but her son is a brat!..and he ended up coming along with us. ug.

The whole time we were shopping in the mall he was being a pain and whining about everything. When we got to walmart though he wasn’t all too bad.

My sister and I actually wanted to play the guitar hero but it wasn’t working. So he tried to help us. We restarded it and everything but nothing would work. So we asked for help from the guy at the desk. I swear that guy was high. You should’ve seen how he acted. But we asked him if it was working and he says “well look at it! of course it is!” and he tried to press the buttons but nothing was working. So he starts making weird “hmm” noises and restarts it and goes “THERE! Now it’ll work I know it.” When it came back up he says, “there ya go! all better. see.” and the screen looked exactly as it did before he “attempted” to fix it.

So my mom’s friends son was there with us and we all just walked away asking each other “so what drugs do you think he’s on” and we were laughing our heads off!

Then we went and played with cameras before we left.

Overall it was a fun day!

Write one leaf about Hamlet

March 14, 2010

Ug, Hamlet is so boring. We began reading this in my honors world literature class this semester. Luckily we don’t have to finish it or write a paper on it anymore. That’s because there are kids in my class who transfered over from regular world literature and they already read it, so my teacher doesn’t want to make them do it again. So now we might just watch the movie!

When we began reading it, the only thing I understood basically was that Hamlet was a d-bag who was in love with a whore….or something like that! I really don’t know. My teacher tried explaining it to us, and that’s how I understood it atleast.

I don’t know what else to say about this play. It’s like a lullaby I suppose, it puts you to sleep!

Write one leaf about dead batteries

March 14, 2010

This is one that really makes me feel agrivated! When I’m older I want to be a photographer. I absoluetly love taking pictures, but my camera is such a pain in the butt! The batteries are constantly dying. A few months ago I started a “picture a day” project on facebook, where I take and upload a picture everyday. However this has been very difficult because of dead batteries. Alot of days I either can’t take my picture because my camera is dead, or I take a picture but it dies then so I cannot upload it.

It’s making my project very frustrating and I’ve lost alot of opportunities to take good pictures! 😦

Write one leaf about armor

March 10, 2010

Brace yourself! This one came up on tumblr twice so I felt I was meant to write about it.

To begin with, typically I just think of “armor” as a metal suit from medieval times. So I decide to look it up on dictionary.com and it came up with:

  • any covering worn as a defense against weapons
  • any quality, characteristic, situation, or thing that serves as protection

So based off that, I’ve decided to write a poem on it. Here it goes: (more…)

Write one leaf about blowing whistles.

March 9, 2010

The whistle blows and we hear the command to put up our instruments. In perfect formation we are counted off and begin marching to the tune we play. Rehearsed till our feet were soar and the sweat dripped down our bodies. Our muscles ached as the sun began setting. We continued around the parking lot and down the road. The whole time knowing if we could get it right we could go home. We hold our heads eye and arc our backs. The whistle blows again. Someone was out of step! We are counted off and begin again. One more time around the block. The bugs come out and we start swatting. Our lines fall apart and the song we play is now only vaguely recognizable. The whistle blows for the last time. We are dismissed to go home. We all let out a sigh of relief….It’s the beginning of summer marching band practice.

Write one leaf about pinkeye

March 7, 2010

I want to start by saying, “I’ve never had pinkeye!”

There was one time though about a month ago where my eyes were super red and everyone thought I had pink eye. One of my teachers told me that I’d better to to the office and call my mom. So I did – The ladies in the office told me I’d better go home and when I called my mom she ordered pinkeye drops for me and called my boss and told her I couldn’t work that day because I had pinkeye. I didn’t go home though, because there was only 1 hour left that day.

So when I got home my mom sent me to my room and told me not to come out because she didn’t want to catch it. She gave me the drops and had me put them in continuously throughout that night.

When I woke up in the morning, my mom asked me how my eyes were. I told her they were still red and she asked me if they were crusty. They weren’t. She said maybe I should stay home but when she looked at them they were just red. By the time I was dressed and had breakfast they weren’t as red anymore so I went to school. While I was at school they got red again.

It turned out, it was because one of my friends had a banana both of those days during lunch (which I’m allergic to) and the smell (ridiculously enough) was irritating my eyes and causing me to have an allergic reaction! It was crazy!

Write one leaf about popcorn

March 7, 2010

The sound of corn kernals popping always makes me feel at peace. It reminds me of all the fun movie nights I’ve had with family and friends-relaxing together on a comfortable couch and simply enjoying just being together. I remember for the spring band concert one year, helping make popcorn for all our parents with one of my friends. Alot of good moments in my life had the sound of popcorn popping in the background. Thinking about it puts an effortless smile on my face! =)

Write one leaf about a place where you do not live but you nevertheless consider home

March 6, 2010

Chicago. I was born in Chicago. I lived there with my mom, dad, grandpa, and younger sister when I was younger. The day before my fourth birthday we moved to wisconsin. I’m 17 now. I remember when we were getting ready to leave I didn’t want to go. My sister and I tried to stall our parents. We had an old plastic table with pink legs on it that could be screwed off so we took them off. We sat down on the table and pretended the legs were logs of wood and that we had started a fire while camping in our living room.

I have a minimal amount of memories from when we lived there because I was so young. A good majority of my family does still live there though, so we visit often. Every summer we go to Illinois  to stay with my aunt for two weeks and during that time it’s typical to travel to Chicago 1-3 times. My uncle still lives in the city and he takes us around. He enjoys showing us all the spots where things have changed, where he used to go to school, and all his favorite spots.

A few months ago, him and his wife had a backyard wedding renewal ceremony. While we were in Chicago, my dad showed me the church where him and my mom got married in our old neighbor hood. As soon as I saw it, I remembered all the times on Saturday mornings when my grandpa would take my sister and me for walks to get doritos and then sit on those church steps eating them while he smoke his pipe with vanilla tobacco. I felt like I was home again!
